GURTEC GST rollers turn up in some unusual places and none more so than Emerald Park’s recently upgraded ride.
Together with C&K Fitzpatrick, our sales partner for Ireland, we were privileged to look “behind the curtain” of Viking Splash. Whilst you might think that this was all just a bit of fun, the application was extremely demanding on the rollers with a single roller required to bear the entire weight of approx. 2000kg on a single pivot roller. We would never come across loads like this in material handling, but GURTEC were up to the challenge.
GURTEC set to work and designed a specific 10mm wall GST roller with a revised shaft end, engineered to perform under these extreme loads. The GURTEC GST sealing system has already been proven in Emerald Park, even underwater, so it was again used here to keep the fun rolling around the 1.6km track.
The rollers arrived on time along with specialized belts from C&K Fitzpatrick and the new boats direct from Los Angeles. Following an intensive installation schedule, the Viking splash is ready to receive passengers and create an even bigger splash than ever!
